Homemade Turtle Candy

👩‍🍳 How to Make It

Prepare your tray
Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil and lightly spray with nonstick spray.

Arrange the pecans
Place 4 pecan halves in a cluster like turtle legs. Repeat across the sheet. (They can also be dropped randomly in small clusters.)

Melt the caramel

Unwrap the caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl.

If stiff, add 1 spoonful of water to help soften.

Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth.

Let it cool slightly so it’s not too hot.

Add the caramel
Drop a spoonful of caramel onto each pecan cluster.
(No need to be perfect—turtle candy is meant to be rustic!)

Melt the chocolate

Use the microwave or a double boiler to melt the chocolate.

Stir until smooth.

Top with chocolate
Spoon chocolate over each caramel mound, letting it drip over the sides. Gently spread to cover the top completely.

Chill
Refrigerate the candies for at least 30 minutes until the chocolate and caramel are fully set.

Serve & store
Serve at room temperature for best flavor and texture.
Store extras in an airtight container in the fridge or a cool room for up to 2 weeks.
