Cheesy Texas Toast

#### **Tips for Success**

1. **Use Thick Bread**: Texas Toast is meant to be thick, providing a sturdy base to support the rich, cheesy topping. Opt for thick-cut, soft bread like Texas Toast or a hearty sourdough.

2. **Garlic Butter**: Don’t skimp on the garlic butter spread. It’s the key to getting that deliciously savory, crispy outer layer.

3. **Melt Cheese Properly**: For a perfectly gooey texture, make sure your cheese is shredded and spread evenly over the toast, and bake until bubbly and golden.

4. **Baking Temperature**: Bake at a moderate temperature (375°F/190°C) to ensure the bread crisps up without burning the  cheese.

5. **Broil for Crispiness**: For an extra crispy top, broil the toast for 1-2 minutes after baking, but watch closely to prevent burning.

#### **Instructions**

1. **Preheat the Oven**: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If you plan to broil the toast later, position the oven rack to the middle.

2. **Prepare the Garlic Butter**: In a small bowl, mix softened  butter, garlic powder, and salt. Spread this mixture evenly over each slice of bread.

3. **Assemble the Toast**: Place the buttered slices of bread on a baking sheet. Sprinkle an even layer of shredded cheddar cheese, followed by mozzarella and Parmesan (if using) over each slice.

4. **Bake**: Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

5. **Optional Broiling**: If you want an extra crispy finish, broil the toast for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.

6. **Serve**: Garnish with fresh parsley or additional seasoning if desired, and serve hot.
